Wellbeing walks
At Dixons Croxteth Academy, we value the well-being of our students as much as their academic progress. To support this, we have introduced well-being events into our calendar, particularly for Year 11 students as they prepare for the challenges of their GCSE exams. These include activities such as well-being walks at Crosby Beach and fun team-building events within the academy.
Each September, we begin the academic year with a whole-school well-being walk. This gives every student the opportunity to connect with their peers and pastoral year group staff in a positive, supportive environment. Each year group takes on a different route, meaning that by the end of their five years with us, students will have completed five unique well-being walks.
Through expeditions and our Duke of Edinburgh programme, students develop resilience, independence, and teamwork, skills that will serve them well beyond school.
