Art at Dixons Croxteth Academy
Art plays a vital role in our academy, enriching our environment and showcasing the creativity of our students. We proudly display artwork throughout the school site, transforming corridors and communal spaces into galleries that celebrate the talent of current students and alumni.
One of our key initiatives, the Heart Space Project, has further brightened the academy with student-led artwork, turning it into a space where creativity thrives. As part of this, our students have been working collaboratively on large-scale pieces: each of us painted a small part of a Liver Bird, creating a beautiful collective artwork that symbolises unity and pride in our city. Soon, we will begin painting the cathedrals to add alongside it, making our Heart Space even more inspiring. These projects are being documented so the journey, as well as the finished art, can be celebrated and shared.
Our annual art exhibition also gives students the opportunity to showcase their work to family and friends in a professional setting. These events not only highlight artistic talent but also build pride, confidence, and a sense of belonging across our community.
