Student recognition
Celebrating success is at the heart of life at Dixons Croxteth Academy. We recognise achievement not only when targets are met, but also when students demonstrate the intrinsic motivation to “do the right thing because it is the right thing to do.”
Every Friday, we hold appreciations for both staff and students. These are shared in morning meetings and featured in the weekly bulletin. Rewards such as “Beat the Queue” passes are given for excellence in attendance, attainment, and behaviour.
Each month, every head of year selects one outstanding student to receive a special reward, culminating in breakfast with the Principal. Our “Positive Fridays” initiative encourages staff to end the week on a high by making a positive phone call home to at least one student.
We also host recognition assemblies each term and our annual Awards Evening, where we come together as a community to celebrate outstanding performance in subjects, leadership, and living out our values.
