Results day 2025

Posted 8th September 2025

On Thursday 21 August, we proudly welcomed back our Year 11 cohort from the 2024–25 academic year to celebrate their GCSE results—and what a celebration it was.

This group of students has faced extraordinary challenges throughout their educational journey. Their final days of primary school were spent in lockdown due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and they missed the opportunity to complete their Year 6 SATs. Their transition to secondary school was marked by uncertainty, having enrolled at The De La Salle Academy just before it received a closure notice due to underperformance. They then experienced the turbulence of academisation, as the school transitioned and aligned with the Dixons Academies Trust.

Given this level of disruption, it would have been understandable if academic outcomes had faltered. But instead, these students defied the odds.

We are absolutely delighted to announce that GCSE results have once again improved, and over the last three years, Dixons Croxteth is now among the most improved schools in the country—if not the most improved.

Results Day was a truly joyous occasion. The school was beautifully decorated, and many staff came in to support and celebrate with students as they opened their envelopes and shared their successes. There was laughter, tears of joy, and a deep sense of pride in what had been achieved.

This year, we saw more subjects achieving Grade 7+ than ever before in our school’s history. Students in Art, Science, and Spanish achieved Grade 9s, placing them in the top 3% nationally for those subjects. These are phenomenal outcomes that reflect the hard work, resilience, and determination of our students—and the unwavering belief and support of our staff.

Our Careers team was on hand to guide students through their next steps, especially those who exceeded their expectations and are now applying to more prestigious colleges and sixth forms.

We are incredibly proud of this cohort. Despite every challenge, they have become the highest-performing year group in the history of Dixons Croxteth. Their success is a testament to their character and the strength of our school community.

As we celebrate this milestone, we remain focused on the future. Our commitment to excellence continues, and we are already working to support the next generation of students to achieve even greater heights.

Here’s to continued progress, resilience, and success.
