Open Evening 2026

On Thursday, we were delighted to open our doors to Year 5 and Year 6 pupils and their families as they begin to think about choosing a secondary school.

We understand that this can feel like a big and sometimes stressful decision. Our aim was to give families a warm welcome, answer their questions and help them make the right choice for their child.

Throughout the evening, children had the opportunity to experience life at Dixons Croxteth. They practised their cooking skills, took part in an art class, completed a maths challenge, explored our library, dissected a heart and safely used Bunsen burners in science.

Families were guided around the academy by our fantastic students, while our Principal delivered three presentations to a packed Main Hall. Our students were exceptional ambassadors and proudly demonstrated the positive culture, enthusiasm and sense of belonging that make Dixons Croxteth so special. We have since been inundated with lovely messages thanking them for their warmth, confidence and helpfulness.

It was the busiest Open Evening we have ever held and a wonderful celebration of our academy community. Last year, all our Year 7 places were filled and we currently have a waiting list. We have also already received more first-preference applications than ever before.

Families who were unable to attend, or who would like to see the academy during a normal school day, are warmly invited to arrange a visit. We encourage anyone interested to book early, as places are already filling quickly.
