LFC foundation - STEM on Track
Posted 14th October 2026
On Tuesday 13 October, we were delighted to welcome special guests from Liverpool Football Club and the LFC Foundation to Dixons Croxteth Academy.
Earlier this term, a group of our Year 8 and 9 students applied for the opportunity to represent Liverpool schools in the LFC Foundation's first-ever STEM on Track programme. During the visit, students received the exciting news that they had been successfully selected from a highly competitive pool of applicants to take part in the initiative.
This fantastic opportunity will see students participate in a year-long, student-led STEM programme that combines hands-on learning with curriculum-linked digital modules in Science, Mathematics and Design Technology. Working collaboratively, students will build a full-size racing kart using step-by-step video guides while exploring the STEM principles behind each stage of the process through the online Race Academy platform.
As part of the programme, students will have the chance to test their kart at the Regional Finals and compete for a place on the starting grid at the prestigious STEM on Track National Finals.
We are incredibly proud of our students for securing their place on this exciting programme and look forward to following their journey over the coming year.
