Exciting Chess tournament at Dixons Croxteth Academy

At Dixons Croxteth Academy, we recently hosted an exciting chess tournament organized by our passionate math teacher, Matthew Brannan, in collaboration with Rob Steele, Merseyside Coordinator for CSC (Chess in Schools and Communities).

The event drew 43 students who competed in a knockout-style competition using professional tournament boards. Participants demonstrated impressive strategic skills, encouraged by Rob Steele's engaging presentations.

The excitement reached its peak in the final stages, as chess clocks added intensity to the matches while students competed to win within a 5-minute time limit.
