Coastal Field Trip for Year 8 Geography Students
Posted 18th June 2024
Forty-six Year 8 geography students participated in an insightful coastal learning walk from Crosby to Formby last week. The purpose of the walk was to explore coastal landforms, erosion, and sea defences along the Sefton coastline.
The students were fortunate with the weather, allowing them to complete field sketches, gather data, and analyse their findings without hindrance. This fieldwork experience proved to be highly successful and informative.
Mr Duggan received a delightful message from a Hightown resident who encountered the students:
“FAO Mr Duggan, I live in Hightown. This morning, I was walking along a path in the dunes with my dog when a group of 25 of your young students passed by. I stepped aside to let them through and must commend you on their politeness and friendliness. Half of them thanked me as they went past, and several inquired about my dog. They are a credit to your school.”
Such positive feedback highlights the exemplary conduct and manners of our Year 8 students. Well done to all involved!
