Iain Duggan
Principal
Iain is a passionate historian with a particular love for 20th century European history. He studied History and Politics at Newcastle University before beginning his career in a high street bank. Finding the work unfulfilling, he moved into roles within local authorities, where his interest in public service grew. It was through volunteering with a local youth organisation that Iain discovered his passion for education and decided to pursue a career in teaching.
He joined the Teach First programme, which placed him in a school in Bradford, where he remained for the next 15 years. During this time, Iain taught in several Dixons Academies across Yorkshire, gaining deep insight into the Dixons mission and values. He has held a range of leadership roles including Head of Faculty, Assistant Principal, and Vice Principal, leading on numerous initiatives and developing high-performing teams.
In 2023, Iain made the decision to return to the North West to lead Dixons Croxteth Academy. He is deeply committed to addressing educational and social disadvantage in the region and ensuring that every child, regardless of background, receives a high-quality education and the opportunity to succeed.
